NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO Wasim Khan on Sunday stated that the PCB will wait for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) till June 2020 to confirm the Indian cricket team’s participation in the next year’s Asia Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place in September next year in Pakistan.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association to hold elections to elect its office bearers on September 28. The apex court observed that the state cricket body has not fully adopted the new constitution of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but it can certainly hold elections.

NEW DELHI: With Jet Airways under insolvency, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to give Air India another try as the BCCI's ‘preferred airline’.  While a similar agreement the Indian cricket board signed four years ago (September 2015) was for one year, the current arrangement with the national carrier is specifically for the ongoing series against South Africa.
