NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is mulling various options to stage the thirteenth edition of the Indian Premier League, with the possibility of staging the IPL outside the country being their last resort. "The board is looking at all options. If it comes to taking IPL out of India, it may happen but as the last option," a BCCI source told ANI.

NEW DELHI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has filed a petition requesting the Supreme Court to take up the case on extension of tenure of its office-bearers, Telegraph India reports. While BCCI secretary Jay Shah will have to go into compulsory cooling-off period next month, board president Sourav Ganguly’s term ends in July. Both were elected unopposed on October 23, 2019.

LONDON: The England and Wales Cricket Board has initiated discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to allow Indian women players to be made available for ECB's 'The Hundred' competition, slated to be played later this year in the UK. The Hundred is a 100-ball format that is set to launch in July with the men's and women's tournaments to run concurrently over a five-week period.
