In a significant first for world cricket, the International Cricket Council has named an all-female panel of match officials for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.

Three match referees and 10 umpires make up the 13-woman team in what is a landmark moment and is in part of the ICC’s strategic ambition of advancing the involvement and visibility of women in cricket.

NEW DELHI: The Badminton Association of India (BAI) has written to the Badminton World Federation (BWF), expressing its interest to host the Sudirman Cup finals this year. India was scheduled to host the mixed team championship in 2023, but the BWF awarded the rights to Suzhou, China, while giving the 2026 World Championships to India.

The demerit point handed to the Rawalpindi pitch after the first match of the ICC World Test Championship series between Pakistan and England has now been rescinded. The decision was taken following an appeal from the Pakistan Cricket Board. The Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium was given a “below average” pitch rating after the first Test of the series in early December.
