NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: Conflicting reports have emerged on whether crowd attendance will be allowed at the Chepauk and the newly constructed Motera Stadium during England's upcoming four of India which involves four Test matches against England.  The first two Tests will be held at the Chepauk in Chennai, beginning on February 5, while the next two will be played at the renovated stadium at the Motera near Ahmedabad.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has approved a 10-team Indian Premier League from 2022. The decision was ratified at the BCCI's 89th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Ahmedabad on Thursday.  It is now definite that the IPL will be a 94-match tournament from 2022, as was the case in 2010 when the BCCI added the (short-lived) Pune and Kochi franchises to the original eight-team mix.

MUMBAI: Former Indian Premier League chairman Rajiv Shukla is set to be elected unopposed as a vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on December 24 at the BCCI's Annual General Meeting in Ahmedabad. The introduction of two new teams in the IPL and cricket's inclusion in the Olympics will be the main topics of discussion at the meeting which has 23 points on the agenda.
