Universal Music joins hands with eSports company

COLOGNE: The Central European division of Universal Music Group (UMG) have announced a multi-year partnership with ESL Gaming, the world’s biggest eSports company that will be managed out of UMG’s Berlin headquarters.

The aim of the agreement is to exclusively help Universal discover and promote new artists through ESL’s global tournaments and channels. In an industry first, UMG will partner with ESL to create the ultimate destination for gaming and music fans alike to experience the official soundtrack of the world’s esports leagues and tournaments.

HAMBURG: Bundesliga heavyweights Borussia Dortmund have announced a 3-year partnership with online platform, eSports.com.  The deal makes Dortmund the second Bundesliga club to foray into the eSports zone, days after FC Koln agreed to a similar deal with the website as well as SK Gaming back in January.

Tencent in talks to invest in Dream11: Report
MUMBAI: The world’s largest investment corporation, China-headquartered Tencent is looking at investing in Dream11, India’s biggest fantasy sports platform, as per a report in the Economic Times. As per the news report, if the deal goes through, Tencent will invest around Rs 6.57 billion ($100 million) in Dream11 for a pre-money valuation of $400-$450 million.
