AICF chief announces Rs65cr budget to bolster chess ecosystem

The president of the All-India Chess Federation Nitin Narang has announced a Rs 65 crore budget to bolster the 'Bharatiya Chess' and "its ecosystem to unparalleled heights". 

Following a meeting late Saturday evening, decisions were taken on key initiatives, including financial and institutional support for professional players, along with grassroots level players, PTI reports.

It would also include the launch of two special programs - AICF Pro and AICF Popular - to promote chess on a wider scale across the country, PTI reports.

World Archery extends suspension of intl competition until 30 June

Athletics' Diamond League suspensions extended to May meets
MONACO: The Wanda Diamond League Friday postponed three more meetings which had been scheduled to take place in May. An alternative calendar for the 2020 season is to be announced in due course.
