Broadcast Rights

The International Cricket Council and Sky Wednesday announced a new five-year deal for Sky to be the exclusive New Zealand broadcaster for all ICC men’s and women’s events through to the end of 2028.

The agreement, which was reportedly sealed without a tender process, completes the ICC’s portfolio of broadcast partners in its key target markets.

The global OTT platform focused on South-Asian content has been awarded the exclusive digital and television media rights for Vivo IPL 2018, scheduled to take place from 7 April to 27 May.

MUMBAI: The eight teams in the cash-rich league will now receive a sum of Rs 2.5 billion a year, which is a more than four-fold increase from the Rs 600 million each team used to receive annually in the last 10 years of the league's existence, Mumbai Mirror reports. The news of the hike was conveyed to the franchise representatives in an IPL workshop in Ahmedabad on Sunday, the report added.
