The Playmakers have launched a comprehensive glossary and open-access resources to increase awareness around India's sport-for-development landscape.

The Sports and Society Accelerator (SSA), on behalf of the Playmakers Collaborative, recently published public resources for the Indian sport-for-development (S4D) ecosystem. Directed at practitioners and external stakeholders alike, the two key resources launched by SSA are:

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced Thursday that it has appointed former first-class cricketer Wasim Khan as its new managing director and his tenure is expected to begin from February 2019. The appointment was finalised after a comprehensive two-phase selection process, which saw over 350 candidates expressing their interest following an advertisement for this position.

MUMBAI: Motorsport's world governing body FIA has approved Formula One’s 21-race calendar for 2019. FIA's World Motor Sport Council, which met in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, confirmed that that 11 races would be held in Europe, five in Asia, four in the Americas and one in Australia. The season will start one week earlier and finish one week later.

DUBLIN: The UEFA Executive Committee has approved the creation of a third UEFA club competition for the 2021–2024 cycle at its meeting in the city on Sunday. The new competition (which has the working title of UEL2) will mirror the existing UEFA Champions League and Europa League, and feature 32 teams in a group stage.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced Tuesday that any cricketer found guilty of manipulating their date of birth certificates while registering for board-sanctioned tournaments, will be suspended with a two-year ban. In an official statement, the BCCI declared having ‘a zero-tolerance policy for age fraud in sport’.
