SENTOSA, Singapore: The Asian Tour has inked a International Media Partner agreement with The Wall Street Journal.

As the latest international media partner of the Asian Tour, WSJ  will receive branding, customer engagement and hospitality opportunities at selected Asian Tour events.

The partnership with the US publication will also allow the Asian Tour to broaden its exposure internationally through its promotion across WSJ’s digital assets.

BEIJING: Chinese online entertainment platform iQIYI Inc has been awarded exclusive broadcasting rights for the US Open, which now makes it the largest professional golf live streaming and video information platform in the country.  It had earlier acquired similar rights for the sport’s other three Majors - Masters, The Open and PGA Championship.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) incorporated the National Sports Code in its constitution after a fiery extraordinary general meeting (EGM) here Wednesday, The Telegraph reports. “We have successfully amended the constitution as per the demand of the sports ministry. However, it might take a few months before it comes into effect,” said outgoing president Wing Commander (retired) Satish Aparajit.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Golf Union (IGU) is divided over an EGM convened on June 6 to amend its constitution as demanded by the Sports Ministry, with a faction terming the meet ‘illegal’.  According to a report in Hindustan Times, this meet is essential in due to the Sports Ministry derecognising the federation since it failed to comply with the National Sports Code and holding elections.

SAN FRANCISCO: Basketball star Stephen Curry is in talks with the PGA Tour for a deal that would allow his management company to sell marketing and sponsorship deals for a golf event in the fall of 2019, ESPN reports.  The Safeway Open in California is said to be targeted as the event that Curry would host. A PGA Tour official confirmed that they were in talks with Curry regarding this deal.

NEW DELHI: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Thursday announced the revival of its Feeder Tour after a gap of four years with the first tournament slated to begin here on May 23 at the BSF Golf Club. The 2018 season will feature six events with a prize purse of Rs 800,000 each. The last time around, each of the six events carryied a prize purse of Rs 600,000 each, PTI reports.
