On an unforgettable evening at the historic Palacio de Cibeles in the heart of Madrid, with media from across the world in attendance, Djokovic was named Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for a record-equalling fifth time.

MADRID: Organisers of the Mutua Madrid Open on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the tournament's 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ATP Masters 1000 event is typically held in May, but was rescheduled to September because of the virus.
