International Boxing Association

The International Boxing Association (IBA) has filed an official complaint to the Boxing Independent Integrity Unit (BIIU) against the recently created US and UK-fronted World Boxing. 

The case has been registered by the BIIU and "will be reviewed as soon as possible".

The breakaway body, which is currently backed by of a handful of mainly Western countries, was formed with the stated aim of securing the boxing’s Olympic future.

LAUSANNE: The International Boxing Association (AIBA) Extraordinary Congress Monday ushered in a new era for the sport as the federation changed its acronym from AIBA to IBA, while adopting a comprehensive set of governance reforms developed by independent experts.  A total of 107 of IBA’s national federations were in attendance to approve these wide-spread changes.
