TOKYO: Demand among local citizens for tickets to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics has far exceeded expectations, leading organisers to state Friday that there will now be a second ticket lottery in August for those who missed out the first time around.
The second-round lottery will likely take place before August 22, when applications for Paralympic tickets are scheduled to start.

LAUSANNE: The IOC Session Wednesday took note of a new set of guiding principles regarding commercial opportunities for participants during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, which were approved last week by the IOC executive board.
The Session itself decided on a change to Bye-law 3 of Rule 40 of the Olympic Charter.

NEW DELHI: India on Tuesday submitted a formal bid to the International Olympic Committee to host its 2023 session in Mumbai.
On the sidelines of the IOC's 134th session, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Batra and IOC member Nita Ambani proposed to host the 2023 session, ANI reports. It is expected that India will choose Mumbai as the host city for the 2030 Winter Olympics.
