MUMBAI: India’s home season media rights holder Star India is seeking a Rs 130 crore discount on its existing deal, the current cycle for which ends in March. While Team India jersey sponsor BYJU's, which wants an immediate out from its sponsorship agreement, has reportedly told the the BCCI to encash its bank guarantee worth an estimated Rs 140 crore.

The BCCI top brass deliberated on these two matters at the emergent meeting of the Indian cricket board's apex council on Monday, PTI reports. It was a virtual meeting.

MUMBAI: Star India has announced celebrity brand ambassadors for the telecast of its Bengali and Telugu language feeds of the Indian Premier League 2018 on two regional movie channels.  The Telugu feed will be telecast on Star Maa Movies and endorsed by actor NTR Junior, while the Bengali feed will be available on Jalsha Movies and promoted through TVCs featuring actor Prosenjit Chatterjee.

MUMBAI: The Indian cricket board is looking at another massive pay day as the e-auction for BCCI cricket media rights failed to throw up a winner at the "end of day's play" by the allotted 6 pm deadline Tuesday.  At the time the bidding window closed for the day, the bid value in the Global Consolidated Rights category stood at Rs 44.42 billion (Rs 4442 crores, approximately $680 million).

MUMBAI: After weeks of trading charges, Star India and Airtel Digital TV has reached agreement. The move ensures that the DTH operator's subscribers will continue to get access to the network's channels, which includes, in particular, telecast of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Star Sports.
