Newly crowned Hero Indian Super League (ISL) champions ATK Mohun Bagan FC will be renamed as Mohun Bagan Super Giants from the 2023-24 season. 

Club owner Sanjeev Goenka made the announcement after The Mariners beat Bengaluru FC in a penalty shootout in the final at the Fatorda Stadium on Saturday to clinch their maiden ISL title.

“We were waiting on the cards. We were waiting for the [ISL final] win to announce it,” Goenka announced after the historic win.

MUMBAI: I-League heavyweights Mohun Bagan are close to signing a sponsorship deal with a top global steel company which is likely to be valued at Rs400 million, Moneycontrol reports. The Kolkata-based club is likely to make an official statement on the same and details of the agreement on July 29, which is known as the Mohun Bagan day in Indian football.

The two organisations will be committed to promote the game of football throughout the entire country,” club director Srinjoy Bose said.
