MADRID: LaLiga announced Thursday that it has extended its strategic principal sponsorship agreement with Santander Bank to include the 2020-2021 season, which will mark the fifth year of the deal.

The project incorporates LaLiga, LaLiga 1|2|3, LaLiga Genuine Santander, LaLiga Promises Santander and LaLiga ProPlayer, an initiative recently unveiled alongside Santander Bank that that sees young Spanish footballers receive scholarships to study and play football at US universities.

NEW DELHI: Top officials from 18 Spanish LaLiga clubs got together in the city Tuesday, ramping up their activities in the country while mulling a collaboration with the All India Football Federation, Press Trust of India reports. "We have come to see football's potential for growth in India," an official, who was part of the event, told the newswire.

MADRID: La Liga heavyweights Atletico Madrid have announced that it will sport the logo of ‘Save the Children’ on its back of its jerseys for all its matches in UEFA competitions. The Spanish club had done the same during its UEFA Super Cup match in Estonia back in August in which they had defeated city rivals Real Madrid.

MADRID: La Liga club Real Valladolid has found a principal owner in former Brazilian star and World Cup winner, Ronaldo. He has bought a 51% share in the club and subsequently becomes the president of its board of directors. However, he confirmed on Monday that Carlos Suarez, the club’s current president, will retain his individual post as a part of the ownership agreement.
