MUMBAI: Twitter recorded 12 million tweets on the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, it was announced on Thursday.

The two-week event generated 12 million Tweets, from the opening ceremony on August 18 until the closing ceremony on September 2, according to a statement.

The closing ceremony was also something to remember. From the amazing fireworks, athletes and volunteers parade, to performers by national and international artists, ClosingCeremonyAsianGames2018 succeeded to amaze the world, generating 1.8 million Tweets related to the event.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation on Sunday termed the decision of the Narinder Batra-led Indian Olympic Association to deny permission to the men's and women's national teams to particpate in the upcoming upcoming Asian Games in Indonesia as indicative that the IOA lacked both "vision and competence".

NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) will be finalizing a list of approximately 900 members, including players and officials by June 30 that will be travelling for the Asian Games in Indonesia from August 18 to September, Press Trust of India reports.  From a provisional list of 2,370, the IOA will be trimming down the list in consultation with the Sports Ministry.

NEW DELHI: A total of 192 Indian athletes will be supported by the Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme till the conclusion of the Asian Games in Jakarta in September.  The latest list of athletes under TOP Scheme was revealed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has formulated a no-parents policy for the upcoming Asian Games, to be held in Indonesia from 18 August to 2 September.  This decision will be communicated to all IOA-affiliated sports associations.

MUMBAI: After the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games organisers reduced the quota for shooters and 2022 Games host city Birmingham indicating that the sport will likely not be included, the latest blow to the discipline is the decision by the Jakarta Asian Games organisers to trim shooting events from their schedule.
