After drawing IOC flak, IOA to move on CEO appointment

The Indian Olympic Association, which has been dragging its feet for more than a year on the International Olympic Committee's demand that it appoint a professional chief executive, will finally re-initiate the hiring process after being called out by the IOC. 

The IOA executive council, which met in Mumbai on Tuesday, decided to issue a new advertisement for the post. The CEO will be an ex-officio member of the IOA executive council without voting rights.

IOC awards Olympic Cup to UNHCR
LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded the Olympic Cup 2019 to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. The award ceremony took place at the beginning of the IOC Session that is meeting in Lausanne during the Youth Olympic Games Lausanne 2020, which officially opened on 7th January. The Olympic Cup was presented to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi.

Transparency highlighted in Tokyo 2020 Olympic boxing regulations
LAUSANNE: Following consultation with athletes, the IOC boxing task force has confirmed that the technical & competition rules to be applied at the Olympic boxing qualifying events and the boxing tournament at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will include the end-of-round display of scoring and other measures aimed at increasing clarity, transparency and integrity.

IOC signs uniform supplier deal covering next 2 Olympics
LAUSANNE: The International Olympic Committee announced Monday a partnership with Chinese textile company Hengyuanxiang Group (HYX), spanning the next two editions of the Olympics.
