GUWAHATI: U-20 world champion sprinter Hima Das on Thursday signed a multi-million, 2-year deal with sports management firm Infinity Optimal Solutions (IOS). The company did not specify the exact monetary details of the deal.

GUWAHATI: OIL India Limited, the government-owned oil company based in the state of Assam, announced on Saturday that it will be presenting Rs 2 million to Hima Das, the first Indian to win a Gold medal in a track event at any world level event.  OIL’s CMD Utpal Bora told PTI that the financial aid was being given to her for training assistance for major event such as the Olympics.

NEW DELHI: Assam's Hima Das created history by winning the Gold medal in the women's 400 metre event at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland, on Thursday. The 18-year-old track sensation, a pre-tournament favourite, registered a time of 51.46 seconds in the final at the Ratina Stadium to become the first Indian athlete to win Gold at a world championship across all age groups.
