Hero I-League

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation Friday issued an invite to accept bids for new clubs to join the Hero I-League from the 2023-24 season onwards.

Under the Vision 2047 plan unveiled by the AIFF earlier this year, the federation plans to increase the number of teams in the I-League in a triple-tier system in order to provide opportunities to aspiring clubs and/or investors from various socio-economic backdrops.

NEW DELHI: Funatix Club announced that its Real Manager platform will become the official fantasy football partner of the Hero I-League in India. Financial terms and the partnership tenure were not disclosed. The partnership follows two recent regional deals with the Thai Football Association for the Thai League 1 and with the Football Association of Singapore for the Singapore Premier League.

MUMBAI: Rajasthan United FC Wednesday issued a statement refuting a report that said the club is all set to withdraw from the ongoing I-League 2021-22 owing to a lack of funds.  Rajasthan United FC won the I-League qualifiers in October to qualify for the ongoing season (currently suspended) of the I-League.

NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation League Committee will decide January 4-5 when to hold the Hero I-League 2021-22 matches that were scheduled for December 30-31, 2021. The I-League had been suspended following the increasing cases of the Delta and Omicron variants of the Coronavirus across the country.

NEW DELHI: The roadmap for the Hero Indian Super League, laid out September 2020, wherein relegation and promotion is to be introduced from the 2024-25 season, and leading up to that, the Hero I-League winners will get “direct slots” in the ISL from the 2023-2024 season, remains on track, All India Football Federation (AIFF) general secretary Kushal Das said on Monday.

NEW DELHI: The Hero I-League 2021-22, which is all set to kick off from December 26 in three venues in and around Kolkata, will have the widest geographical spread spread to date. The upcoming edition will feature 13 teams from 11 cities.   The Mohun Bagan ground in Kolkata, the picturesque Kalyani Stadium and the Naihati Stadium are the three venues that will host the latest edition of the I-League.

KOCHI: Afghanistan national midfielder Sharif Mukhammad, who had played a key role in Gokulam Kerala’s stunning triumph in the Hero I-League last season, will lead the side in the 2021-2022 season. Sharif, a player aside from the strife-torn country's better known cricketers to make a mark with Indian fans, scored four goals from 14 matches and also made 799 passes last season.

NEW DELHI: The Indian football domestic season is all set to get underway with the Hero I-League Qualifiers 2021, which is set to take place at the Bangalore Football Stadium in Bengaluru, Karnataka, from October. A total of 10 teams will represent as many states in the I-League qualifiers, from within a centrally organised bio bubble in Bengaluru.

NEW DELHI: Sreenidi Deccan Football Club, the latest entrants into the Hero I-League this season, was launched on Wednesday in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the occasion, Andhra Pradesh Sports Minister Shri M Srinivasa Rao remarked: “Mental and physical fitness is coming to Visakhapatnam in such a big way,” while also congratulating Sreenidi Deccan FC on the launch.
