NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday placed the management of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) under a Committee of Administrators (CoA) in order to enhance the “environment” of sporting bodies and structurally reorganise them.

The IOA and any other National Sports Federations (NSFs) must not be recognised or given any facilities by the Centre, according to the court’s directive. This is true even if they agree to follow the Sports Code.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court, while hearing a government plea to settle issues that led to FIFA suspending the All India Football Federation and rescinding hosting rights for the upcoming Under-17 Women’s World Cup in October, directed the Centre to take a proactive role in lifting the suspension.  The next hearing in the matter has been scheduled for August 22.

NEW DELHI: The Union government on Tuesday made an urgent request in the Supreme Court for an early hearing as FIFA suspended the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and rescinded India's India hosting rights for the upcoming Under-17 Women’s World Cup in October. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud.

The International Hockey Federation (not surprisingly) stated on Tuesday that it is not satisfied with the reply of the Committee of Administrators governing Hockey India, to their previous letter and "cannot accept the turnaround time of 20 weeks" for adopting a new Constitution and put in place a duly recognised and democratically-elected board.
