Mumbai City FC steps up on fan engagement

MUMBAI: Indian Super League franchise Mumbai City FC has roped in real time sports social platform Rooter as its official fan engagement partner.

Rooter's mandate will be to provide unique engagement opportunities for existing MCFC fans while acquiring new ones and expanding the club’s fan base to other regions of Maharashtra and the rest of the country.

For this, the company has partnered with global sports data giant Opta Sports as its official data provider, to make sure MCFC fans and sports followers get the latest, detailed and correct stats, scores, and expert opinions.

MCFC CEO Indranil Das Blah says, "While on field preparations and the team are shaping up well, we want to ensure that we give our fans the best possible avenues for them to engage with the club. Rooter has achieved growth and success in such a short span of time and we are glad that their offerings will help us take care of fan engagement, which is one of the most vital aspects of every season.”

In a statement, Piyush, founder and CEO, Rooter said, “Rooter will mainly work to provide expert assistance in three aspects-fan engagement and acquisition, revenue generation such as selling tickets, merchandizing and acquiring sponsorships and most importantly providing stats and data of fan engagement for all MCFC matches to the team that helps them to understand and grow their own fan base."

In this, the ISL's fourth edition, two new teams have been added - Jamshedpur FC and Bengaluru FC.
