Reliance Foundation among Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Purushkar awardees

NEW DELHI: Reliance Foundation has been awarded the Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Purushkar by President Ram Nath Kovind at a function at Rashtrapati Bhawan. 

Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani was present to collect the award, which comes under the 'Sports for Development' category.

Others who received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahana Purushkar this year are Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) for 'Identification and Nurturing of Budding and Young Talent', Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) for 'Encouraging sports through corporate social responsibility' and The Golf Foundation under the 'Sports for Development' category.

The ceremony also saw former Indian hockey captain Sardar Singh and two-time Paralympics gold medallist Devendra Jhajharia receive the Khel Ratna awards from the President.

The Sports Ministry awards the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar in order to encourage the involvement of corporates and sports promotion boards in the development of sports in the country.
