For India to grow into a sporting powerhouse, it needs to develop not just state of the art infrastructure but also adopt scientific mindset, champion shooter Abhinav Bindra said on Wednesday, calling upon coaches to embrace sports science in their training methods.
Bindra, India's first individual Olympic champion, was a keynote speaker at the Bharat Sports Science Conclave.
Bindra, the 2008 Beijing Olympics gold medallist, said: "Coaches as the custodians of athletic progress must embrace sports science to fine-tune their training methodologies to this digital age.
