PGA Champions Tour 2024 schedule has $67M prize pool

THE PGA CHAMPIONS TOUR has revealed its 28-event 2024 schedule with a record $67 million prize pool.

The seniors' season tees off with the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in Hawaii from January 18-20. It concludes with the Charles Schwab Cup Championship in Phoenix from Nov. 7-10. The tour welcomes one new event in October with the Simmons Bank Championship in Little Rock, Arkansas, a newswire Reuters report said.

Vimal Kumar, Ashwini Nachappa on Khel Ratna selection panel
MUMBAI: Former national badminton coach Vimal Kumar and ex-athlete Ashwini Nachappa have been nominated by the Sports Ministry to be part of this year's Arjuna and Khel Ratna awards selection committee, Press Trust of India reports. The committee will be headed by the retired Delhi High Court judge, Justice Indermeet Kaul Kochhar and will include three renowned sports journalists.

Record no. of European clubs profitable in 2017: UEFA 
ZURICH: UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin said on Sunday that the governing body’s improved Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations have made European football gain profits for the first time ever in 2017 season with $694.67 million (600 million euros). The FFP was introduced in 2011, the same year in which it had suffered record losses of $2.28 billion (1.7 billion euros).
