Sony lines up extensive b'cast coverage for Birmingham CWG

MUMBAI: Sony Sports Network is all geared up to Live broadcast the XXII Commonwealth Games starting from 28th July at 11:00 pm IST. 

The marquee event will mark the return of Sony Sports Network's Live wraparound studio show SPORTS EXTRAAA, featuring eminent panelists and guests. 

The global event which will see participation from over 200 Indian athletes, will be telecast LIVE across SONY SIX, SONY TEN 1, SONY TEN 2, SONY TEN 3 & SONY TEN 4 channels, as well as live-streamed on its on-demand OTT platform SonyLIV.

No return of shooting at CWG 2022: CGF chief
MUMBAI: Shooting as a discipline will not be reinstated at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, Commonwealth Games Federation chief executive officer David Grevemberg has confirmed.  Grevemberg issued the clarification in response to queries raised by the editor of Shooting Times.

Sushil Kumar faces CWG ban if found guilty in Rana assault case
NEW DELHI: Double Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar, in the eye of a storm after his supporters allegedly beat up the brother of his opponent Parveen Rana after a bout during the Commonwealth Games trials last month, could be banned from CWG 2018 if found guilty. This was stated Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

Shooting dropped from CWG 2022
MUMBAI: Shooting has been dropped from the programme for the 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games, while a mixed gender Twenty20 cricket event might make it into the the CWG fold.

Birmingham is Host City Partner for 2022 Commonwealth Games
MUMBAI: The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) today announced that it has selected Birmingham, England as the host city partner of the XXII Commonwealth Games in 2022. Birmingham 2022, which is expected to take place from 27 July – 7 August 2022, marks 20 years since Manchester 2002, the last time the Games were held in England.
