MUMBAI: Finally a verdict on a case the richest cricket board in the world has dragged out for ten years (and counting).

The Bombay High Court ruled Thursday that the BCCI is liable to pay employer’s contribution to the Employee State Insurance (ESI) as it is engaged in commercial activities and earning profits from the same, and hence covered under the ESI Act.

MUMBAI: In what should have been expected, the Bombay High Court has banned sports firm Grace India Sports Pvt Ltd (GISPL) from using any IPL-related terminology for a league the firm was intending to start. A report in Mumbai Mirror said that the court has barred GISPL from infringing on BCCI’s trademark “IPL”.

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Friday directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to grant permission for the famed TATA Mumbai Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, 21st January, after setting an interim payments quantum to be made by race organisers Procam International, while the case is argued.
