NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday invited applications for the women’s team head coach’s job.  Current coach WV Raman’s contract had expired last October but the former India cricketer was asked to continue till the recently concluded home series against South Africa, Sportstar reports.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has extended, for one more season (at least?), the production contract for the Indian Premier League, the three-year rights for which were held by Star India, that had expired with the 2020 edition of the IPL.  The BCCI extended the Star deal by a year "for want of time", Cricbuzz reports.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday appointed former Gujarat DGP Shabir Hussein Shekhadam Khandwawala as the head of its Anti-Corruption Unit. Khandwawala replaces Ajit Singh, former DGP of Rajasthan, whose tenure ended on March 31. Singh has been a part of the Indian cricket board's ACU since April 2018.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has revised playing conditions ahead of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League. The BCCI, in a letter sent to all the eight IPL teams, has put in place two major rule changes - reduction of playing time for each innings to 90 minutes aimed at controlling over rates, and removal of the on-field soft signal.

MUMBAI: The International Cricket Council has provided assurances over the concerns raised by the Pakistan Cricket Board about the participation of its team and presence of Pakistani fans at the Twenty20 World Cup that India is scheduled to host in October, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani has confirmed.   Mani made the disclosure in an interview to Pakistan's Jang newspaper on Wednesday (March 17).
