If last year's elections for the Wrestling Federation of India's executive council was all about proxy candidates whose main claim to fame was absolute loyalty to the WFI's former president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the upcoming Lok Sabha elections for the Kaiserganj seat in Uttar Pradesh follows an identical template.   

The Bharatiya Janata Party is fielding Karan Bhushan Singh, son of the sitting MP Brij Bhushan. It is worth noting that Karan was last year anointed by his father as his replacement for presidentship of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association.

ZURICH: FIFA announced Friday that it will be globalising its Women’s World Cup 2019 Trophy Tour for the first time in its history. NEW DELHI: The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has dismissed rumours that it has requested for a change of venue for India’s Davis Cup match against Pakistan in September this year following the recent terror attacks in Kashmir, IANS reports.
