A Delhi court on Friday ordered framing of charges in the sexual harassment case filed by female wrestlers against powerful politician Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, whose writ continues to hold sway over the Wrestling Federation of India.

The former WFI president has also been charged with the offence of outraging the modesty of women. 

The court had earlier dismissed an application filed by Brij Bhushan, seeking time for making further submissions on the charges and for further investigation.

NEW DELHI: The pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad which hosted the ODI World Cup final between India and Australia on November 19 has been rated "average" by the International Cricket Council (ICC). ICC match referee and former Zimbabwe batter Andy Pycroft, however, rated the outfield as "very good", PTI reports.

There are serious doubts now over whether the next Commonwealth Games (CWG), scheduled for 2026, will take place. This comes after Australia's Gold Coast on Monday ruled itself out of hosting the quadrennial multi-sport event.  It bears noting that Gold Coast is the second potential Australian host of the 2026 Games to have "dropped the baton" on the event after Victoria earlier pulled the plug on it.

The All India Football Federation on Thursday revealed that multiple approaches have been made to several AIFF-registered players as part of concerted efforts to "manipulate matches" of the ongoing I-League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken embattled edtech giant BYJU’S to the National Company Law Tribunal.  As per the details available on the NCLT website, although the case was filed on September 8, it was officially registered on November 15. The NCLT website indicates that the case is set to be heard on December 22.

The MotoGP Selection Committee, comprising members of FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports, announced Monday that the CryptoDATA RNF MotoGP Team have been removed from the list of teams that will make up the grid for the 2024 season. "Repeated infractions and breaches of the Participation Agreement affecting the public image of MotoGP have obliged this decision," the selection committee declared.
