MUMBAI: A former owner of an IPL team, and other leading real estate companies, are reported to be the winners of bids to own teams in the upcoming T20 Mumbai League, which is being held from March 11-21 at the Wankhede Stadium.

MUMBAI: Following two intense days of bidding in Bengaluru, the 2018 VIVO Indian Premier League auction concluded Sunday evening with millions of dollars in "smart money" bids splashed on 169 players (for 182 vacant slots). This included 113 Indians, 56 overseas, 91 capped, 77 uncapped and one Associate player. A total of 19 RTM cards were exercised and Rs 4.314 billion spent.

MUMBAI: The advisory body of the Indian Premier League has announced that a team buying England all-rounder Ben Stokes would be entitled to hire his replacement in case he remains unavailable for the entire duration of IPL. However, if he misses only part of the event, the franchise won’t be eligible to seek his replacement.

With 18 players retained, 182 slots are up for grabs.
