The World Badminton Federation has awarded hosting rights for the next edition of the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals and World Junior Championships to Denmark and India respectively.

As already reported, Guwahati’s newly christened National Centre of Excellence will host the World Junior Championships 2025. As for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, they have been awarded to the Danish city of Horsens.

It is just the second time that Denmark will stage the BWF World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships following Aarhus in 2021.

NEW DELHI: The inaugural Hyderabad Open badminton tournament, scheduled to be held in August, was on Thursday cancelled by the sport’s world governing body in view of the COVID-19 pandemic, two weeks after the unveiling of a revised calendar.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton World Federation and Badminton Denmark announced Wednesday that the TOTAL BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2020 in Aarhus, Denmark have been postponed for a second time to new dates of 3 – 11 October. The postponement was necessitated after the Danish government extended coronavirus social-distancing measures banning “larger gatherings” until the end of August.
