India, Denmark win hosting rights to BWF Major C'ships '25-'26

The World Badminton Federation has awarded hosting rights for the next edition of the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals and World Junior Championships to Denmark and India respectively.

As already reported, Guwahati’s newly christened National Centre of Excellence will host the World Junior Championships 2025. As for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, they have been awarded to the Danish city of Horsens.

It is just the second time that Denmark will stage the BWF World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships following Aarhus in 2021.

LAUSANNE: There are further changes to the status of badminton tournaments this year with the YONEX Swiss Open 2020 and 2020 European Championships now cancelled. Both previously carried “suspended” status until suitable replacement dates could be found.

Revised dates unfeasible, Hyd Open badminton cancelled

BWF World C'ships rescheduled to end-2021
KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton World Federation (BWF) and Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA) confirmed Friday that the BWF World Championships, traditionally scheduled for August 2021, will now take place at the end of 2021 from Monday 29 November to Sunday 5 December.

2nd shift: BWF moves Thomas, Uber Cups to October
KUALA LUMPUR: The Badminton World Federation and Badminton Denmark announced Wednesday that the TOTAL BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2020 in Aarhus, Denmark have been postponed for a second time to new dates of 3 – 11 October. The postponement was necessitated after the Danish government extended coronavirus social-distancing measures banning “larger gatherings” until the end of August.
