Goa secures nod to host much-delayed Ntl Games 'anytime in 2023'

PANAJI: After a wait of nearly a decade, Goa has got the nod to host the National Games "anytime in 2023", state Sports Minister Govind Gaude said on Wednesday.

The infrastructure required for hosting the games in Goa would be ready by December this year, PTI quotes Gaude as having said, while making the announcement in the State Assembly late on Wednesday night.

MUMBAI: If there is one thing predictable about whichever state is awarded hosting rights for what is notionally the country's most prestigious national multi-discipline event, it is that they are NEVER held within the timeslines originally announced. The only unpredictable part is how many times said timelines will be shifted.
