FIH Congress kicks off in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: Some 250 delegates from all over the world gather in the capital this week for the 46th Congress of the International Hockey Federation (FIH).

The Congress is the supreme body of the FIH and meets every second year. This is where strategic decisions are made for the development and governance of hockey globally.

While the Congress session itself will take place on 3 November, the week kicks off Wednesday with the FIH executive board meeting as well as a meeting of the continental federation CEOs.

FIFA Congress to discuss 48-team World Cup 2022 in Qatar
MUMBAI: FIFA has said that it will hold a formal discussion about having 48 teams instead of the usual 32 at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar at its Pre-Russia 2018 Congress on June 13 in Moscow, a few days before the start of World Cup.
