NEW DELHI: Around Rs 9.5 crore have been released under the "Sports for Women" component of the Khelo India Scheme to increase women's participation in sports since 2020, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur informed on Tuesday.

Thakur, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday informed, "All schemes of the Department of Sports are gender neutral and cater to all sportspersons equally. However, one of the components of the Khelo India Scheme "Sports for Women" is specifically dedicated towards the promotion of sports among women."

NEW DELHI: The Union government has allocated more than Rs 32 crore (Rs 320m) to the Paralympic Committee of India during the four year period of 2017-18 to 2021-22, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said in Parliament on Tuesday. In a reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Thakur said the fund was given under the Scheme of Assistance to National Sports Federations.
