French multi-sport brand Go Sport set for India entry

MUMBAI: After the super success that Decathlon has enjoyed in the Indian market, another French multi-sport brand will be making its debut in India.

Tablez, the retail arm of Lulu Group International, will launch Go Sport in India next month, Hindu Businessline reports.

Sports is the next major segment the company will enter. In the last two years, it brought into India international retail brands such as Springfield, Women’s secret, Toys’R’Us, Babies’R’Us and Build-A-Bear, Adeeb Ahamed, managing director, Tablez, told the business daily.

The first Go Sport showroom will come up in Mumbai, followed by another in Bengaluru, he told BusinessLine. The showroom will have all the major global sports brands.

Ahamed said the company plans to invest another Rs 1 billion in the current financial year to expand across segments, including food and beverage, sports, toys and apparel. Tablez will more than quadruple its revenue to nearly ₹2.5 billion this year as against Rs 600 million last year, which was the first full year of the company’s operations in India.
