'Tribute Run' to mark 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks 10th anniversary

MUMBAI: IDBI Federal Life Insurance, in association with The Sea Hawks Foundation, present The Tribute Run, a sporting tribute in memory of the martyrs and brave hearts of Mumbai, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. 

The Tribute Run will take flag off from the National Sports Club of India (NSCI), Worli on Sunday, 25th November.

To announce this special initiative, present on the occasion were Karthik Raman, chief marketing officer, IDBI Federal Life Insurance, Ms Mayank Vyas Singh, race organiser and Jayantilal Shah, president, The National Sports Club of India (NSCI). 

Also present were the special guests, Mrs Sarlaben Parekh who after losing her son and daughter-in-law in the terror attacks, has been seeking better surveillance and security systems in Mumbai city, Additional Commissioner of Police (South region) Pravin Padwal, Mumbai Police, Julio Ribeiro, former Mumbai Police Commissioner and founder of NGO - Public Concern for Governance Trust and Ms Nishriin Parikh, award-winning fitness trainer and international fitness athlete.

The Tribute Run, which will pass through many of Mumbai’s iconic landmarks, has 3 different categories – 21K (half marathon), 10K and 5K. The registration fee for the respective categories is Rs 800/- for the 21K, Rs 600/- for the 10K and Rs 400/- for the 5K. The registrations are free for the personnel and dependents of the Armed Forces, Paramilitary, Coast Guard, Mumbai Police, Mumbai Fire Services, and Mumbai Traffic Police. There are special discounted rates for athletes with disability.

Raman said: “On the 10th anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks, we encourage everyone in Mumbai to participate in the Tribute Run and run together for those who stood together. Through this sporting tribute, we honour the memory of the brave hearts whose spirit, courage and resilience were indomitable in the face of terror and violence. As a city, while we #KeepMoving, we must resolve to stay strong and never forget.”
