MUMBAI: Cricket is likely to be included in LA28's proposal to the International Olympic Committee, CNBC-TV18 quotes sources as having said Monday.
A final decision is expected at the upcoming IOC Session, which will be held in Mumbai between October 15 and 17.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18 on September 1, IOC president Thomas Bach had said that he was in favour of cricket’s inclusion in the Olympics but that it was up to Los Angeles (organising committee) as it would be the host nation. The IOC would take a final call thereafter.
In this regard, it is worth noting what an ICC spokesperson had told insidethegames in January: "It remains an absolute priority for the ICC to aim for Olympic inclusion at the LA28 Games."
