Wimbledon aces China targeted digital partnership

BEIJING: Sina Sports and the All England Club announced Tuesday that they have entered into a digital content collaboration for Wimbledon.

 

Through the relationship, Sina Sports will become the official digital content partner of Wimbledon for the next two years. Sina Sports fans are able to access a full range of on demand content of this most historic and prestigious tennis tournament.

 

Sina Sports has similar partnerships going with the Australian Open, the US Open and the China Open.

 

Wimbledon 2017 will take place in London from 3 to 6 July. During this time, Sina Sports will provide digital coverage of The Championships, including match highlights, player interviews, press conferences, and other content directed at Chinese fans on Sina Sports and Weibo.

 

Wimbledon is the oldest of the four Grand Slams, and is widely considered as the most prestigious tennis tournament. As the only grass court Grand Slam tennis tournament, Wimbledon has unique glamour among tennis fans.

 

Tennis continues to grow in popularity among Chinese fans. The rise of China’s most famous tennis star, Li Na, spurred on tremendous growth for the sport in China. 

 

The partnership with the All England Club is aimed at raising the profile of Wimbledon among fans and consumers in China, an official release states.
