SPSN's new TVC 'pumps up volume' on Champions League action

MUMBAI: Football fans in India can gear up to watch the best European clubs battle it out on the field to be crowned the Champion of Champions as Sony Pictures Sports Network (SPSN) brings back the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League season, one of the most prestigious football club competitions of the world.

Football Fans now have a reason to stay up late as all the matches from the group stages LIVE on SONY TEN 1, SONY TEN 2, SONY TEN 3 and SONY SIX channels. The 2020/21 UEFA Champions League season kicked off October 20.

UEFA Champions League is one of the biggest club tournaments in the world which hosts 32 top-division clubs across Europe such as last season’s champions, FC Bayern Munich, Barcelona FC, Real Madrid CF, Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Manchester United FC, Juventus FC, last season's finalists, Paris Saint-Germain and more.

This season will act as a platform for all football fans not only in India but also from around the globe to settle the everlasting debate on who is the best player in the world, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, as Barcelona FC and Juventus FC have been drawn against each other in the same group. All eyes will be on the two most celebrated forwards in the history of football as they meet for the first time in the group stages of the Champions League.

To build on this excitement and connect with the sentiments of football fans in India, SPSN has launched a new campaign film titled ‘Aaj Koi Nahi Soyega’. The campaign resonates with hardcore football lovers and fence sitters. During the Champions League, there are many who stay awake to watch the world’s best football action as well as those who go to sleep but aren't comfortable with that decision as they know they are missing out on something great. The campaign film uses four memorable and relatable situations, each with its own quirk, to nudge people into staying awake on Tuesday and Wednesday nights when the world’s best players are all set to play in the biggest club tournament event. The films are created on the success of the last season’s campaign, Sona Mana Hai, and will be rolled out in English & Hindi across TV and digital platforms.

Aaj Koi Nahi Soyega – 60 seconds
Situation 1: It starts off in a hostel when a guy is suddenly shocked by the sound of ghungroos in the night. Intrigued, he opens the door and is stunned by what he sees - a ghost with a candle walking towards him. Scared, he runs to an adjoining room and starts banging the door in fright. To his utter shock, a ghost opens the door and says in a hoarse whisper - Aj Koi nahin Soyega! At this moment, the ghosts remove their costumes and an entire gang of boys emerge from their rooms and start dancing to the tune of Tuesday, Wednesday koi nahin soyega.

Situation 2: A guy is snoring but is woken up by a friend who video calls him at night, asking him to watch the Champions League.

Situation 3: A sleeping teenage boy is pranked by his father and sister who drag his cot into the living room where the TV is. The boy suddenly wakes up in amazement in his suspended bed while his dad tells him ‘Aaj Koi Nahi Soyega’ since the best European football clubs will battle it out on the field to be crowned as Champion of Champions.

Situation 4: A watchman is singing - Jaagte raho, Koi Nahin Soyega in a fun and quirky manner as he suddenly sees a football fanatic get on the roof and starts banging his thali creating a racket. A society uncle asks him to stop but the guy replies - Asli maza toh ab shuru hoga kyonki UEFA Champions League will be back in action.
