NEW DELHI: The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Prasar Bharati, India’s public service broadcaster, on Wednesday announced a new partnership that will see Prasar Bharati’s sports channel – Doordarshan (DD) Sports – and its YouTube channel – Prasar Bharati Sports – air classic NBA content, documentaries, game highlights and public service announcements.

The partnership will feature daily content offerings including Hardwood Classics, Marquee Matchups, NBA championship videos, NBA TV specials and public service announcements.

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court Tuesday sought Prasar Bharati's response on a plea Delhi-based Sports Flashes, a multi sports content app, alleging that the pubcaster was resorting to arm-twisting to force it to give up the audio rights it holds for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. The High Court sought Prasar Bharati's stand on the petition filed by India Sports Flashes Pvt Ltd.

NEW DELHI: In what would be a serious blow to sports rights holders if the Centre has its way, the Union information and broadcasting ministry has proposed to amend the Sports Broadcasting Signals (mandatory sharing with Prasar Bharati) Act, 2007, so as to allow pubcaster Doordarshan to not only air the feed it gets from private sports broadcasters on its terrestrial network and its direct-to-home-service DD Free Dish, but
