LONDON: The National Football League Tuesday announced a major UK initiative - endorsed by some of the biggest names in sport - that aims to use American football to create life-changing educational and professional opportunities for young people.

The NFL Academy, which begins operations in September, will offer student athletes aged 16-18 the opportunity to combine education with life skills and intensive training in the sport under full-time professional coaches.

LONDON: British media company BT may have lost out on the broadcast rights of the English Premier League but will create history by showcasing a live sports event in 5G using remote production through its telecom subsidiary, EE. Through remote production at their base in Stratford (East London), BT Sport will use this approach to increase the coverage available to viewers with more matches and faster highlights.

NEW YORK: The National Basketball Association (NBA) announced on Wednesday that it will be hosting a game in London at the iconic The O2 Arena, which is managed by the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG).  It will be a regular season game on Thursday, January 17 2019 between the New York Knicks and the Washington Wizards.
