MUNICH: Germany is set to become the first of Europe’s top five football leagues to make its return after German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the heads of the German federal states decided Wednesday that the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 seasons can resume from mid-May.
The 36 clubs will hold a conference call on Thursday to finalise a resumption date.
Clubs in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 have been back in training since last month with a view to restarting the 2019-20 season this month.
