MOSCOW: FIFA announced on Thursday that as many as 2.5 million people were a part of the FIFA fan fest for the World Cup 2018 throughout the host cities in Russia. 

The fan fest has been conceptualized over the years, keeping in mind the best place outside the stadium for fans to experience the biggest sporting event in the world. It is open on all match days for fans to watch the matches live and enjoy an exciting music and cultural entertainment programme, free of cost.

MARSEILLE: Formula 1 has announced the F1 Marseille Festival, which will mark the sport’s return to France after a decade.  The fan fest will be held alongside the Formula 1 Pirelli Grand Prix de France 2018 from the 22nd to 24th of June in the city.

MOSCOW: Russia’s capital city played host to the FIFA World Cup 2018’s inaugural fan fest on Monday.  According to the local organisers, around 25,000 turned up for the fest, boasting 20 well known live music acts in the presence of former World Cup winner from France Marcel Desailly and Russia’s all-time top scorer Aleksandr Kerzhakov.
