MUMBAI: The first look of the biopic on Hawa Singh, known as the father of Indian boxing, featuring actor Sooraj Pancholi, was unveiled on Tuesday by superstar Salman Khan.

Based on the true story of the iconic heavyweight boxer, the film will be directed by Prakash Nambiar. It will be produced by Sam S Fernandes and Kamlesh Singh Kushwaha, PTI reports.

"Hawa se baatein karega singh (This Singh will fly)," Salman captioned the first look on Twitter.

The poster shows a beefed up Sooraj, guzzling a glass of lassi in a boxing ring.

NEW DELHI: Sports management firm Infinity Optimal Solutions has signed on five world championships medal-winning boxers, including Gaurav Bidhuri and Manju Rani. IOS, which will now handle their endorsements and commercial interests of Bidhuri, Lovlina Borgohain, Jamuna Boro, Simranjit Kaur and Rani. IOS has the country's only Olympic medallist boxers Vijender Singh and MC Mary Kom on its roster.

NEW DELHI: ‘Padma Shri Kaur Singh’, a biopic on the life and achievements of Indian heavyweight champion boxer Kaur Singh, is in the works. The shoot for the movie was recently wrapped up and the post-production has already started, Gurlove Singh Ratol, co-producer and partner in Slay Records, told Pragativada.

NEW DELHI: Indian boxer Neeraj Goyat, who holds the WBC Asia-Pacific welterweight title, has signed up with Canada’s Lee Baxter Promotions on a two-year contract. Goyat, who has won nine of his 13 professional bouts, would be gunning for a second yet-to-be-announced belt next month when Lee Baxter Promotions announces his opponent and the title for which he would fight after May 19, PTI reports.
