CP Joshi edges Lalit Modi's son to win RCA prez poll

JAIPUR: Senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament CP Joshi on Friday won the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) presidential elections.

Joshi, a past president of the state association, beat former RCA chairman Lalit Modi’s son Ruchir by a margin of five votes. Of 33 votes in total, Joshi secured 19 while 14 went in favour of Ruchir.

The election was conducted on 29 May and the counting was done under the supervision of ombudsman Gyansudha Mishra here Friday.

The RCA elections this year was contested amid controversies and thus the Rajasthan High Court granted permission for the counting of votes under the presence of Mishra, The Statesman reports.
