NEW DELHI: The most powerful cricket body in the world has yet again been forced to eat humble pie after falling at the wrong end of the stick on the legal front. Needless to say, it is a seriously expensive pie. 

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is reportedly ready to cough up compensation of over Rs8 billion to IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala for terminating its contract in 2011, a massive mark-up on the Rs3 billion the team's promoters were initially willing to settle for.

MUMBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday made available for purchase the Indian Premier League Media Rights ITT (2018-2022). Both television and digital media rights to the league are up for grabs. The last date for purchasing bid documents is 24 August. Bids will be opened on 28 August and the result will be announced the same day, the BCCI has confirmed.

LONDON: Afghanistan and Ireland were Thursday confirmed as full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) after a unanimous vote at the ICC full council meeting at the Oval. Both will now be eligible to play Test cricket following a membership committee recommendation that the respective full member applications from each met the newly approved membership criteria and should be put forward for approval.
