MUMBAI: In the wake of sustained demands from the franchises, sports management company Mashal Sports, founded by Anand Mahindra and Charu Sharma, and now majority owned by Star India, has confirmed it will open the tender process for the media rights of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). The rights will be awarded for five years, from Seasons 8 to 12, or until 2025, whichever is earlier.

The auction will be held a day after the scheduled second Test between India and England finishes in Chennai. The player retention deadline ended on January 20 and the trading window closes on February 4.

MUMBAI: The IPL players auction ahead of the 2021 season is likely to be held on February 18, a BCCI official told PTI on Friday. "The auction will be held on February 18. The venue is yet to be decided," the official said. Accordimg to the Union government's preferred newswire ANI however, February 18 is not "locked" as yet though Chennai has been chosen as the venue.
