CHANDIGARH: The Punjab & Haryana High Court Friday issued notice to Haryana on a petition filed by former cricketer Yuvraj Singh for quashing an FIR registered against him at the Hansi police station under provisions of the IPC and SC/ST Act for making “casteist remarks”.

Yuvraj was booked for allegedly promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language etc and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony and other offences on a complaint by Hansi-based lawyer and self-proclaimed activist Rajat Kalsan.

MUMBAI: In the wake of sustained demands from the franchises, sports management company Mashal Sports, founded by Anand Mahindra and Charu Sharma, and now majority owned by Star India, has confirmed it will open the tender process for the media rights of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).  The rights will be awarded for five years, from Seasons 8 to 12, or until 2025, whichever is earlier.

AHMEDABAD: Indian President Ram Rath Kovind Wednesday officially inaugurated the newly revamped Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, which has now been renamed the Narendra Modi Stadium. The change of name from Sardar Patel, India's first deputy Prime Minister, to Narendra Modi, the current Prime Minister of the country, was announced during the inauguration ceremony.
