Disney Star has achieved a cumulative reach of 475 million viewers accompanied by 245 billion minutes of total watch time, a growth of 18% in consumption compared to the previous edition, according to the latest data released by BARC.

The broadcaster has also recorded a growth of 5% on TV reach for live broadcast compared to the previous highest recorded in 2019. Disney Star also witnessed a growth of 19% in TVR for the first 34 matches compared to the previous edition.

Revenues at Viacom18, the media arm of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), grew by 49% for the 2023-24 financial year on the back of sports and news. The company’s revenues reached Rs 10,826 crore ($1.3 billion) in FY24 as compared to Rs 7,266 crore ($872m) in FY23.  Per the company’s statement, sports was the biggest driver of revenue growth for Viacom18.

Disney Star, the official broadcaster of IPL 2024, on Thursday said it continues to see a rise in TV viewership for the marquee tournament. According to BARC data, Disney Star has registered a cumulative reach of 44.8 crore viewers for the first 22 days (26 matches) of IPL 2024, garnering 18,800 crore minutes of total watch-time on TV.
