The World Badminton Federation has awarded hosting rights for the next edition of the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals and World Junior Championships to Denmark and India respectively.

As already reported, Guwahati’s newly christened National Centre of Excellence will host the World Junior Championships 2025. As for the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals, they have been awarded to the Danish city of Horsens.

It is just the second time that Denmark will stage the BWF World Men’s and Women’s Team Championships following Aarhus in 2021.

KUALA LUMPUR: Badminton World Federation (BWF) has approved the use of synthetic feather shuttlecocks at BWF International sanctioned tournaments of all levels from 2021. Following this decision, BWF has made it possible for shuttlecock manufacturers to seek approval under the BWF Equipment Approval scheme for versions of their synthetic feather shuttlecocks to be used in international competitions.

NEW DELHI: The players auction for the fifth season of the Premier Badminton League here Tuesday saw world champion PV Sindhu and world number 1 women's singles player Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei fetching the highest prices of Rs 7.7 million each. Incidentally, while each franchise had a purse of Rs 20 million, Rs 7.7 million was the maximum a team could bid for a player.

MUMBAI: The upcoming Premier Badminton League has lost one of its big draws after 29-year-old shuttler announced via twitter on Sunday that she needs to recover after a difficult year that has seen her hampered by a series of injuries as well as illness. The fifth edition of the PBL is scheduled to start next month.

MUMBAI: 250 shuttlers from India and 12 other countries are battling it out at the 12th annual edition of India International Challenge tournament, taking place at Mumbai's Cricket Club of India (CCI), from Wednesday, running through to November 24.  The event, which has been conducted every year since 2008, has been re-christened as the Infosys Foundation India International Challenge 2019 from this year.
